Religious Education News
Welcome back to Term 2! I hope all families had a restful break.
We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Pope Francis on Monday 21st April. He was the leader of the Catholic Church for over 12 years and was loved by many around the world. Known as a “pope of the people,” he brought new hope and joy to the Church and wider world after becoming pope on 13th March 2013.
Pope Francis was known for his kindness, humility and compassion—especially for the poor, the sick and those in need. His special motto, "Lowly but chosen," reflected the way he lived and served others.
Let us pray for Pope Francis and thank God for the blessing he was to our Church.
Professional Development
Last Monday staff from St Joseph’s Adelong, St Mary’s Batlow and St Patrick’s Gundagai gathered in our new building to participate in our annual Staff Spirituality Day.
The theme for the day was “Pilgrims of Hope,” where we explored the meaning of pilgrimage and hope within the Catholic tradition. Together, we reflected on the letters of St Paul and discussed how our community can shine as a beacon of hope to others.
