A great afternoon was spent with our dads last Friday afternoon, it was so wonderful to see so many of our dads come and join us for some fun games and afternoon tea. The children certainly loved having their dads for the afternoon, and from all accounts the dads had just as much fun as their children did. We trust that our dads had a great Father’s day.
I am hearing conversations of some of our older students about their online activities. I have included a link which may be helpful when determining whether your child should be on particular sites. 13 is usually the minimum age that children should be on social media, which would mean that none of our students should be using such platforms. If your child is on social media you need to be prepared for inappropriate content, images and conversation that you may not be aware your child is being exposed to. I STRONGLY encourage your children NOT to be on social media such as Snap chat, Instagram, Facebook and online games where you can chat to opponents. Please monitor your child’s online activity and be vigilant in what you allow them access to – better yet let them go outside and play instead!

We look forward to welcoming our new Kindergarten students for 2020 on Tuesday at 9.30 am. We hope that they are excited about coming to St Joseph’s.
Have a great week!
Kind Regards

Office/Reception
Due to extra funding from the CE we now have a staff member in the office each day. Mrs Crampton will work Monday, Thursday, Friday and Mrs Reynolds will work Tuesday and Wednesday.
To fall into line with CE policy when parents come to pick up their child early or speak with their child during school hours the Office Admin person needs to collect the child from the classroom and will bring them to the office area. Parents need to ensure they sign the late/early departure book.
We also ask that parents refrain from using the staffroom where possible. On a regular basis we have staff from CE visiting wtih training sessions and it is also the only space out of classrooms that our teachers have to work whilst on class release.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

St Joseph's will present a Grandparent's Mass on Wednesday 18th September at 12noon. Following mass we will gather for a picnic lunch with a cup of tea/coffee and cake. We look forward to seeing all the Grandparent's come along.
Congratulations to Isliah, Henry, Faith and Beau who received Student of the Week awards last Friday. Well done!!
Nicholas - Ahn Do Hot Dog Party Time I really like this book because it is funny. Lizzie and Hot Dog are planning a surprise party for Kev the Cat. They did some magic tricks at the party. |
Grace - "Dolphin School" I am reading Dolphin School and it's all about Dolphins. They are very fun and they get into trouble. I like all the dolphins and how they get into mischief. |
K-1-2 have had fun spending the afternoon completing a STEM challenge. They had to build a bridge for the Three Billy Goats Gruff to cross over the river. Lots of wondering and questioning took place as they worked together to build a bridge that was strong enough for our billy goats.
All the best to Arthur, Charlie, Hugh and Isliah as they head off to Cootamundra on Monday 9th September for the Western Region finals.
As you know our Family golf day is fast approaching and is the first weekend back next term – Saturday 19 October, so hopefully you have cleared your calendar to join us!
This is a great fundraiser for our schools Community Council and we are asking every family to contribute in any way that they can. There are many ways that you can help out, so have a think about what might suit you – cooking meat, preparing a salad, baking for morning tea, cooking a bbq or helping out on the day with selling raffle tickets and the general running of the day.
Please fill out the form below and return it to school, so we can get organised for the day. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
