It was fabulous to have so many of our parents and families with us for our end of Year Mass and awards presentation. Thank you to the community council for putting on a morning tea for all of our visitors and guests, it really was a great way to finish off the school year.
In 2025 there will be some staff changes. As I said last week, we thank Mrs Walsh for her time at St Joseph’s as well as Ms Saunders and the valuable impact you have both made on all of the staff and students. I would also like to thank Ms Francis for a great year at St Joseph’s and we really appreciate all of your support and friendly nature that you bring to our classrooms. Ms Ferguson has also had a great year at our school and we wish her all the best as she continues to work at St Mary’s next year. Mrs Ashley Annetts has also been on work placement this year. She has adapted to our classroom routines with ease. St Joseph’s would like to wish all of you the very best for the future.
We welcome Miss McInerney to St Joseph’s in 2025. We are looking forward to working with you and the fresh ideas and skills that you will bring to our school.
Class teachers for 2025:
Kindergarten – Miss McInerney
1/2 – Mrs Dean
3/4 - Miss Braun
5/6 – Miss Soulsby
Library and Classroom support teacher – Mrs Campbell
Executive Relief and Relief from face to face teaching – Ms Dawson
As the year comes to an end I would please ask all families to finalise their school fee payments for 2024 if you have not done so already. Schools, like all organisations have many expenses and running costs and we appreciate you making an effort to pay your fees on time. Included in the newsletter is the fee schedule for 2025. If you would like to pay your fees in weekly or fortnightly instalments – please read the minimum amount that will need to be paid, in order to have a zero balance at the end of the school year.
Wishing all our St Joseph’s families a very Merry Christmas and a lovely holiday break. I look forward to 2025 and the students returning on February 4th.
Blessings for the festive season,
Kirsty Beavan
The final week of Term 4 has arrived!
Thank you to all our St Joseph families and community members for attending our 2024 End of Year Mass & Awards. It was wonderful to celebrate the conclusion of the Year 6 children’s time at St Joseph’s and also to congratulate the students on their efforts throughout the year.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Thank you for your wonderful response to the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. There was a very generous amount of items donated. These items will be made into Christmas hampers and distributed to those in need within our community. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Advent
During the Advent season you will see evergreen wreaths set up at Mass, and on our prayer tables at school. Each Sunday in Advent, we light a candle on the wreath, which symbolises the light of God coming into the world through the birth of His Son. It also reminds us that we are called to be a light to the world, as we reflect the light of God's grace to others
Each week, a new candle is lit.
Candle 1 (violet): called the ‘Prophet’s Candle’, symbolises hope.
Candle 2 (violet): called ‘Bethlehem’s Candle’, represents love.
Candle 3 (rose): called the ‘Shepherd’s Candle’, represents joy.
Candle 4 (violet): called the Angel’s Candle’ represents peace.
By the final week of Advent, all four candles are lit reminding us that the time to rejoice has finally arrived!
Wishing you all a happy and holy Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday season. May you enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Stacey Braun
Religious Education Coordinator

We have been waiting oh so patiently for our garden beds to arrive for our vegie patch – to date they are on their way. A huge thank you to our dads who have already been working hard to get the site in order. William Bowden has very generously levelled the site so it is ready to go – we really appreciate your time and to the Bowden family for the lend of your machine. Dan Hobbs has also done the form work and poured the slab for the garden shed. It is all good to go and again thank you for all your time and effort.
Very early in the new year we will have many jobs that we will need a hand with:
- Constructing the garden shed
- Constructing the garden beds
- Filling the garden beds with soil
- Putting in the watering system
- Spreading the soft fall under the play equipment
- Putting together two portable netball rings
- Installing play drums onto the playground
- General tidy up of the gardens
Some families may prefer to do one of the jobs at a time that suits them, if you think that is better for you reach out in the new year and we may be able to cross a job off the list.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
It is a requirement that Schools keep up to date and medically endorsed records for any student who has a medical condition or allergy (these include, but are not limited to, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Food Allergies etc). If your child has a medical condition or allergy, please contact the office so we can ensure we have all the correct documentation.
Parents/Carers are responsible for informing the school of any medical issues and keeping the required documentation up to date.
If your child has a medical condition, please ensure that the office is notified and you receive the relevant forms.
It is imperative that we have the up to date documentation completed and returned to school.
