It was a fabulous celebration yesterday with our Grandparent’s who joined us for Mass and then shared a cuppa and cake with us which was lovely. A big thank you to Fr George who celebrated mass with us. He really enjoyed playing soccer at lunch time as well!! Zoe and Ryan have a short report about Grandparents day to follow.
We also had a lovely Parish mass on the weekend with again lots of positive comments about how well the children read and participate in mass. A big thank you to staff and students who came to celebrate mass.
Mrs Murray is busy preparing children for Reconciliation. We will keep Culley, Lochie, Fred and Nicholas in our prayers.
In next week’s newsletter we will have some important dates about next term with end of year formalities and celebrations. We understand how busy the end of year gets and we have tried to ensure that there are no clashes with other community and school events.
We look forward to welcoming our 2020 Kindergarten students again on Tuesday for their second orientation day.
Summer uniform is usually worn in Term 1 and 4, however with this beautiful Spring weather that we are having at the moment, children may be more comfortable with wearing their Summer uniform.
Have a great week!
Kind Regards
Kirsty Beavan

Saanvi: "Dotty Detective" by Clara Vulliamy It's about a girl Dotty who likes solving cases. Dotty needs to save the Talent Show from being ruined. She has to find who is trying to ruin the Talent Show. |
Lily: "E.J 12 Big Brother" by S McFarlane This story is about EJ and her two friends going to a Horse Show with EJ's mum. EJ's horse bred a foal. I like this book because I love horses.
|
Anna: "As Happy as Here" I really liked everything about this book. It's about 3 girls who are in hospital together and solve a crime. They witness the crime after the burglars wrote in a newspaper where the crime was going to happen. |
Arthur: "Wilfred the unWise" My book is about Wilfred the unWise who is an apprentice and he thinks he is going to be there forever. He really wants to be a magician. He's not as happy as he could be. I like this book and give it a 10/10. |
On Wednesday we had our Grandparent’s day mass. We want to say thank you to all the grandparents, friends and parents for attending the event. It was a lovely mass where each child was videoed and reflected on what they love about their grandparents. All of the children made a special bookmark which contained a grandparent prayer. The Primary class also made a grandparent portrait which they presented to their grandparents. We would like to say a special thank you to Father George for hosting the event. It was great for our grandparents to have a cuppa and share a lovely cake with us.
Again thank you for coming and spending this special day with us.
- Zoe & Ryan
This week the Primary Class have been investigating volume and capacity. Students created many different rectangular prisms using 24 cube blocks and calculated the volume. Students were then given a volume to represent using the 24 cube blocks.
Keep up to date with events happening at St Joseph's via our electronic school calendar (please note dates can be subject to change).
