It is a nice and chilly half way point to the term!!  We welcomed the beautiful rain this week and are grateful for how lovely and green the countryside is looking.

Our year five and six students are braving the cold weather today and participating in Mortimer Shield in Tumut.  We thank St Patricks Gundagai and McAuley Tumut for joining with us so the children have the opportunity to play Rugby League and League Tag.  

Staff are busy again with Professional Development with most staff heading off to Cootamundra on Monday for the next Challenging Learning workshop.  Tuesday afternoon we will hold our Twilight session where we will revisit our current mission and vision statement and begin the process to write a new one.  Parents are invited to be with us at this session, which will run from 3.30 – 6.30 pm.  If you can pop in even for an hour that would be fantastic to include parent in this process, there is no expectation that you need to stay for the whole session.

The cold weather often brings sickness and really the best place for sick little people is to be at home!  Please make sure that if your child is unwell they recover and get well at home before heading back to school where germs can be spread easily.

Enrolment forms are available for children attending Kindergarten in 2020.  These forms are available online or at our school.  There is an option to fill enrolment forms out online and it will be sent through to the school.  Please follow the attached link.

Open days will commence early Term 3 with dates to be confirmed.

Students enjoyed National Simultaneous Storytime this week.  Our leaders Sydney and Isliah read 'Alpacas with Maracas' to the rest of the school.

The annual Selwyn Ski Trip is on Friday 9th August 2019. 

Information packs will be sent out mid June to students in Years 3-6.

Mortimer Shield

Well done to our students who have competed in the Mortimer Shield competition in Tumut today.  Our Yr 5/6 boys joined with St Patrick's Gundagai and our Yr 5/6 girls joined with McAuley.  Thank you to both these schools for allowing us to participate with them in the competition.  More results to follow.

Gymnastics

Little Champions from Wagga have been doing a great job with the students and their Gymnastics lessons.  From all accounts the students are really enjoying it.

Both street stalls are in Adelong.  Donations of home baked cooking and potted plants etc., are greatly appreciated to make the street stall a success.  Please email Krystal on sjasecretary1@gmail.com if you can assist on the day of the stall for an hour or two.  Thank you for your continued support.

Marriage & Family Sunday Mass will be celebrated at the regular 11am Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka next Sunday 2nd June and will include a Renewal of Marriage Vows for all who wish to participate. No need to register. Just turn up and join in.
